New technologies combined with lean provide opportunities to develop smart and more automated work processes. Most businesses have implemented ENTERPRISE Resource Planning (ERP) systems to improve data flow and processes across organizational boundaries. Many have also adopted digital technologies such as interactive whiteboards, cloud solutions, data capture, smart planning systems, artificial intelligence to achieve process improvements. However, the businesses do not achieve the results they had expected.

We have challenged some businesses to tell us how they have worked on the implementation of digital technology, and what experiences they have in terms of increased efficiency and customer value. We will facilitate a discussion about whether lean thinking and methods can produce better results in such implementations.
